Dr Anna Beroun graduated from Faculty of Biotechnology of the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, studying the action of antidepressants in the animal model of affective disorder. She earned her PhD in neuroscience at the Göttingen University, Germany in 2012. In her thesis she focused on the brain plasticity underlying cocaine addiction. She Joined the Nencki Institute in 2013. During her postdoctoral research in the Laboratory of Neurobiology she continues her research on addiction and appetitive learning with particular interest in hippocampus and central amygdala circuits.
